The Chief Minister would administer the oath on cleanliness to government officials at Talwandi Sabo whereas at district headquarters, the oath would be administered by Ministers And Other Dignitaries. The Chief Secretary would administer the oath to the officers posted at the Civil Secretariat. In various boards, corporations and statutory bodies, head of the board would lead the function.

About Clean India Mission

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national campaign by the Government of India, covering 4041 statutory towns, to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. On this occasion, all the officials and staff were given the responsibility to clean the identified places within the premises. The staff participated in the cleanliness exercise with enthusiasm and helped in cleaning the corridors, floors, basement, parking area, lawn etc. of the office building.

Put Reasonable System Fixing Crop Prices In Place Parkash Singh Badal

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal asked the central government to put in place a viable mechanism on the lines of Swaminathan formula for fixing crop prices, saying current mechanism for determining prices was “absurd” Stating this here in Dhuri assembly segment, the Chief Minister said the Union government must adopt some appropriate formula as proposed by the renowned agri-scientist M S Swaminathan for fixing the prices of crops in the country to save farmers.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government had recommended the cost of the Rabi crop for the year 2015-16 to the Union government, while keeping in view the market price of the various inputs like seeds, fertilisers, insecticides, pesticides, irrigation and labour along with various other factors including the marketing expenditure and weather risks.

He said state government has recommended to the Centre a minimum support price of Rs 1,950 for wheat, Rs 1,640 for barley, Rs 3,800 for gram and Rs 3,600 per quintal for mustard On the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Anandpur Sahib, the Chief Minister of punjab Parkash Singh Badal said that he had personally extended invitation to Modi for attending the celebrations of 350th foundation day of Anandpur Sahib, which was accepted by him.

PM Modi calls Parkash Singh Badal the Nelson Mandela of India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal the “Nelson Mandela of India”. Reciprocating the compliment, Badal described Modi as a leader who would “fulfil aspirations of national heroes like Jayaprakash Narayan”. The two leaders were attending a programme in Delhi to mark the 113th birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to seek financial grants worth Rs 3000 crore to start various development projects which hit a roadblock following a resource crunch.Badal urged Jaitley to immediately release Rs 1300 crore to the Ministry of Fertilizers and Chemicals as equity demanded by it to start Rs 5500 crore National Fertilizer Ltd. (NFL) expansion plan at Naya Nangal area in Rupnagar district.

Badal called on the Union Finance Minister in his office at Shastri Bhawan and apprised the latter that the current capacity of NFL unit which was now five lac tons was to be enhanced to 15 lakh tons, as all the requisite infrastructure was in place for the said expansion.Badal also impressed upon Jaitley to release special funds to the tune of Rs 1375 crore for rejuvenation of the Uppar Bari Doab Canal (UBDC) passing through the districts of Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur.
Taking up the issue of extension, renovation and modernization of Sirhind Canal and Bist Doab Canals, Parkash Singh Badal also requested Jaitley to sanction and release special funds amounting to Rs 18 crore for this prestigious project which was the lifeline of the farmers.

He informed Jaitley that the total cost of this project was estimated at Rs 734.46 crore at 2009 price index and was also accorded investment clearance by the then Planning Commission of India (PCI) in February, 2011 but its execution could not be started due to non-release of funds under AIBP. CM’s Sub-Group On Skill Development To Submit Report To PMO In 15 Days : Parkash Singh Badal

The sub-group of chief ministers on skill development will submit its final report to the Prime Minister’s Office within 15 days, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said.

“I think it will take 15 days maximum. The committee has also entrusted me with submitting the report on their behalf. NITI Aayog will prepare the final report,” Badal, the convener of the panel, told reporters after the meeting.This was the last and fifth meeting of the sub-group,” said Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, who also attended the meeting. Elaborating, Singh said there should be block, district and state level committees for skill development.

It’s also suggested that the 50 per cent of a corporate social responsibility fund should be used for skill development and there should be a long-term policy from states and the Centre for 5-10 years for the purpose. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi highlighted the need for creating infrastructure for skill development and attracting investment, especially in the North-East.Gogoi also pitched for more funds for the states in the region against the backdrop of its limited revenues and lesser industrialisation.

NITI Aayog had set up the sub-group of chief ministers on skill development in March following a decision taken in the first meeting of the Governing Council of the body on February 8 this year.The group was set up to suggest measures to strengthen the State Skill Development Missions to boost capacity and improve standards of skilling at the state level.

It was also asked to examine the private sector’s role in skill development and suggest ways for improved partnership in curriculum development, delivery mechanism, pedagogy, certification, trainer attachment, apprenticeship training and financing. Click Here to Know More

Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal Writes To Centre Over Release Of SC Scholarship Funds

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday sought Centre’s intervention for expediting the release of backlog amount of Rs 245.08 crore under ‘Post Matric Scholarship to SC Students’ scheme.

In a letter to Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, the Chief Minister apprised him that under the Central scheme, 100 per cent funds were provided by the Government of India over and above the committed liability of the state which is Rs 60.80 crore.

He said that utilization certificate of the Rs 376.87 crore released by the Centre along with the utilization certificate of the state’s committed liability of Rs 60.80 crore during 2014-15 had already been sent to the Union Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry in February in 2015.

However, a revised proposal for balance allocation of Rs 245.08 crore was sent to the Centre on February 6, Parkash Singh Badal said.

The Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal further said that the state government had again sent a proposal of Rs 835.33 crore which also included Rs 245.08 crore for 2014-15 and Rs 527.68 crore for 2015-16, requesting the ministry for its prompt release.

He informed the Union Social Justice & Empowerment Minister that since the matter was pending with the Centre, institutes and students were demanding fees and maintenance allowance of 2014-15. For More Info Click

On the sidelines of Sangat darshan programme in Jandiala Guru Assembly segment here, the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal said that he had devoted his entire life to serve the state with the sole aim of ensuring its overall development and prosperity of its people.

He said that it was wrong to categorise any city/town or constituency as VIP because their government was committed for development of the entire state. Badal said it was on record that concerted efforts have been made by the state government to ensure holistic development of the state.

Allegations regarding special treatment were totally baseless as we have already embarked a special scheme to ensure that every town of the state was equipped with state-of-the-art basic amenities to give facelift to the state, he added.
